I am OTAKU

This is Jaheem Herrera. Isn’t he an adorable little kid? He was an 11-year-old kid living in DeKalb County, Georgia. He was a young, happy boy. He loved to dance, draw, play games, and make friends. But all he seemed to make was enemies. He wore a pink backpack to school and was constantly called “gay”. Kids at his school would say he was ugly, gay, and “the virgin” because he was from the Virgin Islands. He told his mother, “Mom, these kids are calling me gay. What is this word? Gay, gay, gay, gay! I’m tired of hearing the same thing everyday!” His mother responded by going to the school and talking to the principal. But the bullying did not stop. He had enough. On April 16, he came home from school extremely happy. He handed his mom a glowing report card with all A’s and B’s. She gave him a high five and told him to go upstairs and get ready for dinner. Later on, when she called him down for dinner, he did not respond. She went upstairs with her daughter to check on him. She found him hanging from his belt in the closet. She had lost her son. She and her poor daughter are traumatized forever. Months later, kids began to pick on Jaheem’s sister. The kids would taunt her over her brother’s death. They would tell her that they wish Jaheem were still here so they could bully him more. How disgusting is that? These little kids, that don’t even know what “gay” means, bully an innocent kid to death, then make fun of him to his sister. That is just cruel and wrong. Then these kids had the nerve to tell the principal that when they called him “gay”, they meant he was HAPPY. Bullshit.

Look at him. Doesn’t he look like the type of kid that would the “most popular” kid in school? It’s just really sad how kids these days can take a couple of physical traits that a kid has and bully him to death. Reading these kinds of stories just make me lose complete faith in humanity. This world is one fucked up world. Reblog if you are against bullying. Homophobic or not.
